Our favourite turtle on the reef

Please note that this post was first published in July 19, 2016, and some of the details, links and offers may no longer be active.

I swam around the lagoon with this cruiser for at least 30 minutes. At first I don’t think he even noticed I was there, or didn’t really care. He was just munching as much algae off the reef as he possibly could while the tide was high in the shallow lagoon.

I swam from one place to the next as he found all the choice cafe’s to dine at. Then he moved off and I decided to stay behind and watch a octopus come in and out of his hiding hole, it grabbed my attention for a few seconds before that same turtle came doubling back to me at speed. I snapped this pic of him then he hung around in front of me as if to say are you going to follow me?? So how could I resist, I followed him to the next spot and the next and he always swam at a speed which I could keep pace with him. I reckon he liked my company, I definitely loved his!!

This is our favourite Turtle picture from the trip, because of the back story, but also because of the quality. It is super duper tack sharp, the water was ultra clear that day and the use of the flash balanced perfectly with the ambient light to bring out his awesome patterns and colours. This will make a epic Glass Mount and look forward to printing this one up for clients and for myself in the future.
